At age eight, I created my first comic book. As with many children during the same time period, I was heavily influenced by the popular status that Jurassic Park gave to dinosaurs. Looking back, it was less about science than it was about dinosaurs ripping each other, and people, to shreds, though it was also a living breathing museum created by technology and human ingenuity. Regardless of how it manifested itself to different demographics of people, Jurassic Park had a tremendous impact on the images which children of the time were creating.

The following portfolio contains a number of comic books from my childhood which contain countless dinosaur drawings. On this page is the very first one, made when I was second grade. On the following tabs are the comic book series I created when I was in fourth grade, called Super Armored Dinosaurs. The comic book series was never assigned by school or even pushed toward completion by my parents; it was an independent project. At least until I made friends with Jared Smith. Jared took a special interest in my comic book idea when I was in the process of making generation one (the first four books). We talked about making it big together with S.A.D.s and he wanted to draw his own generation. Jared eventually moved away and we never stayed in contact. Thus, you may notice that there is no generation two on this site, and until I find Jared Smith and his generation of S.A.D.s, there will not be a generation two. However, I continued to draw the series, even after he was gone and created generation three and one and a half issues of generation four.

The last half issue ends in a very vague way, with Tops, Don, and Saurus on their way to a mysterious island for a mysterious reason. I no longer remember what I had in mind for "The Wettest One Yet," nor am I sure that there was a planned plot to begin with. Will it ever be completed?
